Welcome to the HMAS CANBERRA - HMAS SHROPSHIRE Association.
The HMAS CANBERRA - HMAS SHROPSHIRE Association is a none for profit organisation and was formed to to bring together those men and woman who served in the ship bearing the name HMAS CANBERRA and HMAS SHROPSHIRE.
The Association has members from the following HMA Ships,
- HMAS CANBERRA (1) D33 County Class Heavy Cruiser (1927-1942)
- HMAS SHROPSHIRE D73 County Class Heavy Cruiser (1943-1949)
- HMAS CANBERRA (2) FFG -02 Fast Frigate Guided (1981-2005)
- HMAS CANBERRA (3) LHD- 02 Landing Helicopter Dock (2014 - )
The Association membership is quite diverse, its membership includes personnel who served in World War 2 through to current serving members of the Royal Australian Navy, it also includes family members of those who have served.
The Association is involved at a National level participating in ANZAC DAY and Annual Wreath-Laying Ceremony on August 9th in honour of those lost in HMAS CANBERRA during World War and is the point of contact to liaises with other States the Commonwealth and other Organisations and Associations to participate in National ceremonies concerning the Association.
The Association also organises the National Reunions and is involved in fund raising for Association members in distress and other nominated community charities.
